Lima, Peru: The Chaupe Family seeks refuge after facing harrassment with Yanacocha Mining group

LIMA, PERU (Blogspot.com) December 12, 2012: Mrs. Acuña and his family, who suffered attacks by Yanacocha Mining Group, is now in Lima with his son Daniel, who was transferred to Lima this year because of the effects produced by the attack of mining.

Ayacucho, Peru: Casma Palla Palla receives assault from Mining Group from Britain

On September 26, 2012, at hrs. 3:30 a.m.. approximately 150 individuals / hooded arrived at Palla Palla Casma Caserio location, San Xavier District Alpabamba, Paucar del Sara Sara Province, Ayacucho. The is town located at 4,500 meters above sea level, and the criminal attacks caused by off duty policemen sponsored by the Suyamarca Group (SAC) and approached the people while they were sleeping, these people who were hired by Suyamarca began to destroy, pillage, stealing, assaulting using irons, sticks and guns. In this situation the villagers tried to defend himself but these criminals were in excess, many farmers ended up with broken heads, and other body parts were later treated at the Hospital of Pauza (capital of the province), also these criminals stole persponales objects of humble houses, money and some animals such as llamas, alpacas, sheep and others, kidnapping two of them were later released. These attackers are fully identified some as mining workers Suyamarca SAC, Quellopata SAC ., Belonging to Hochschild Mining Group (British mining company), companies that recognize this fact in his speech claiming that they own the land they occupy this humble town indigenous.

representatives of theCaserio Casma Palla logged their complaint with the Office of the Provincial Criminal Prosecutor Pauza by the following facts: For crimes of usurpation, theft, damage and Kidnapping. So far the authorities have not been present in this town to assess damages or verify the complaint against this company Hochschild Mining Group, a mining corporation based in the United Kingdom. After the turn of event, the President of Casma Palla Palla, Mr Santos Sabino Calla Cayo said " In Peru there is much indifference, companies are very powerful to silence any claims of this type, so there are many very large social conflict in this country."


Residents of Casma Palla Palla demand Hochschild PLC Mining Group to respect their Environment

The association of the Caserio Casma Palla Palla, located in the district of San Javier of Alpabamba of the province of Paucar del Sara Sara (Ayacucho) has confronted a the mining group as the foreign based mining group trespass the communities' properties. For a lengthy period has been knocking various legal doors throughout the Peruvian government structures in an attempt to be heard over a problem themed as socio-environmental whose residents are facing a critical legal conflict of the concession that granted the Hochshild mining group the exploration to potentially excavate raw material such as gold, silver and copper at the location that pertains to the hamlet and surrounding areas.

Despite the time passed, there has been no legal formalities that indicated responses from government authorities. According to the association's President, Mr Santos Calla Cayo, on September 26 of 2012 residents of the community were ransacked and brutally assaulted by aggressors hired by the people of interest of moving the community out of their property.

Police report indicated signs of properties and clothing belonging to the Caserio Casma Palla Palla destroyed in this aggravated assault. The lawsuit was submitted to the Province fiscal Court of Paucar del Sara Sara in Pausa. The hamlet Casma Palla Palla is said to be much closer to the district of Oyolo. And the local police authorities of the jurisdiction sector has not initiated the investigations on the identified aggressors.

Caserio Casma Palla Palla: recibio un ataque de Suyamarca S.A.C (26 Setiembre, 2012)





El dia 26 de Septiembre de 2012, a hrs. 03:30 am. aproximadamente, 150 individuos/personas encapuchadas llegaron al Caserio Casma Palla Palla, Distrito San Javier de Alpabamba, Provincia Paucar del Sara Sara,Ayacucho; pueblo ubicado a 4,500 msnm, cuando todos los del pueblo estaban durmiendo, estas personas comenzaron a destruir, saquear, robar, agredir utilizando fierros, palos y armas. Ante esta situacion los pobladores trataron de defenderse pero estos delincuentes eran en cantidad superior, muchas campesinos terminaron con las cabezas rotas, y otros partes del cuerpo, posteriormente fueron atendidos en el Hospital de Pauza (capital de la Provincia), asimismo, estos delincuentes robaron objetos persponales de las humildes casas, dineros y algunos animales como llamas, alpacas, ovejas y otros, secuestrando a dos de ellos que posteriormente fueron liberados. Estos atacantes estan completamente identificados algunos como trabajadores de la empresas mineras Suyamarca SAC, Quellopata SAC., pertenecientes al Grupo Minero Hochschild (empresa minera inlglesa), empresas que reconocen su intervencion en este hecho aduciendo que son propietarios de los terrenos que ocupan este humilde Pueblo Indigena.


                  Al dia siguiente de estos hechos Septiembre 27, 2012. Los representantes del Caserio Casma Palla  presentaron su Denuncia ante la Oficina del Fiscal Provincial Penal de Pauza por los siguientes hechos: Por Delitos de Usurpacion, Robos, Danos y Secuestro. Hasta la fecha las autoridades no se han hecho presente en este pueblo para evaluar los danos o verificar la denuncia contra esta empresa minera del Grupo Hochschild. Hay indiferencia al respecto. Ante estos hechos en el Peru hay mucha indiferencia, las empresas son muy poderosas para callar cualquier denuncia de este tipo, por eso hay muchos conflictos sociales muy grandes en este pais.
